Rewe Region West, together with the Circus Group, is launching a pilot project for automated meal preparation in supermarkets.

In three supermarkets of the Rewe Region West, customers will soon be served meals prepared by an AI-powered robot. The retailer describes it as a project “that will fundamentally change the food retail industry.”

The robot, called CA-1, is operating in a Rewe store in Düsseldorf and is the first of its kind. The official opening takes place on Wednesday (October 29)
